The members which took part received lots of important information, with one of the topics being first aid emergency healthcare, which Dr. Carolina Kop, the head of the emergency services at IMED Levante hospital, carried out.

Dr. Kop took part in two of the topics. The first of the two being the 'Initial assessment of a trauma patient', teaching the members how to react when finding themselves in the position of rescuing an injured person.

The second topic was 'The crush syndrome', a syndrome very common in natural catastrophes or situations in which the victims get trapped under structures, rocks or any other heavy material.

USAR-13 defines itself as an humanitarian association, independent, private and without the aim of making a profit, their mission consists not only in carrying out search and rescue parties, but to also generate programs and social projects that help to improve the lives of the most vulnerable, and in canine education activities. The dogs are the axis of the group, they play a large part in both the search and rescue parties, and in the different programs and social projects.
